Photo editing… moi?
2008-March-14 | 04:14 pm

This afternoon at the cafe a customer wanted to edit a photo to put on his Facebook profile. Essentially he wanted to cut out himself and some friends and change the background colour. Now my computers aren’t really equipped for detailed editing such as that. I mean, he could have used MS Paint or something crappy like that but it would have been terrible.

So I mentioned that I could do it with my copy of Photoshop on my laptop for my standard graphic design rate of $20/hour. Yes, I have used this rate before, I didn’t just make it up.

So it took me almost exactly 1 hour to properly extract the people from these photos. He was really happy I was able to help him out. Perhaps I should offer my “extra” services more often. What do you think?

Another midterm over
2008-March-12 | 07:51 pm

Loose keyWell I’m happy to say that the last accounting midterm I will ever have to write is over. It’ll definitely make up for the one prior to it. I studied pretty hard so hopefully I get a good mark, gotta get that good grade!

In other news my darn laptop has finally said goodbye to my “\” key. It’s been loose for a long time but not it just won’t stay on at all.

Also, check out SyncToy 2.0. It’s a great Microsoft program for syncing any two folders.

Venture Capital?

My friend Timo linked me to a great video that Guy Kawasaki posted on his blog.
It’s a panel that Guy hosted at the Community Next conference back in February. It’s great to see industry leaders like this exist.

I found this over on CrunchNotes while looking for places to put job postings.

Lip Dub - Flagpole Sitta by Harvey Danger from amandalynferri on VimeoIt’s definitely the cool vision that I get when thinking about working for a website. These guys are Connected Ventures, a group of friends who work for Vimeo, CollegeHumor, Busted Tees, and Defunker.
