First of all, it is usually much faster than 6 weeks. The ones we ordered at the office took about 2 weeks.

And even then, it's nice to have official, known to be good, cds. If you're looking to install it right now and know what you're doing, yeah, just download it. If you're looking to hand them out to your non-geek friends, a professional cd is much better, and who cares if it comes 2 (or even 6) weeks later. Actually, you could order a dozen cds, and just leave them in your internet cafe for random people to take if they want them. You wouldn't really want to do that with home burned cds though.

Btw, there are places where they charge a fair amount for bandwidth, and being connected to dial up for 24 hours solid just isn't allowed.

Oh really? Even my cell phone is faster than that... and 24 hours solid is still like 50 times faster than waiting 6 weeks.

700mb over 56k dial up?! I'd think I'd rather wait for a CD.

Even at 8kb/sec, which is amazing for dial up, that's just over 24 hours solid.
